ABOUT US

The Orchestra was formed in 1957 by a group of local musicians.
The orchestra was open to all who could play, with no auditions
necessary, and had to have either a professional leader or conductor.
These guidelines still apply today.

Over the years the orchestra have played a vast repertoire
of music and have commissioned several pieces of music.

There are currently 42 members of the orchestra.
The conductor is Robert Baxter.
