Helensburgh Orchestral Society’s debut CD, recorded this year to celebrate their 50th anniversary, is now available to buy. The CD, which was made possible thanks to sponsorship from Argyll & Bute Council and Scottish Arts Council through Awards For All, comprises three of the pieces the orchestra performed at the special celebratory concert in March:
Grieg’s “Norwegian Dances”, “Thyme” by local composer Mike Norris, which the orchestra premiered at the concert, and Mozart’s “Concerto for Flute in D Major”, featuring young Lomond School soloist Helena Gourd.
The CD, which is priced £5 (plus p&p), is available to buy now. Please contact Amanda Wilson by clicking here to order. The CD will also be on sale at the next concert on Saturday 29th November in the Victoria Halls, Helensburgh, where once again the orchestra will perform a varied programme of music under the baton of conductor Robert Baxter.
